Representation in the STT from Saloni
Between 10 and 14 March 2025, the #ReACT project and University of Bucharest were represented by our coordinator, Claudia Iacob, at the Training “Responsible Internationalization and Institutional Support for At-risk Scholars Access to Higher Education, Training and Employment” hosted by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The event gathered academics, policy-makers, and internationalization experts from across Europe to exchange knowledge, best practices, and institutional strategies on supporting scholars at risk, promoting academic freedom, and ensuring responsible internationalization in higher education.
Through peer exchanges, roundtable discussions, and workshops, the participants explored:
How to implement responsible internationalization while balancing knowledge security, academic freedom, and human rights.
The perils of international cooperation in the current geopolitical climate and strategies for ensuring inclusive academic policies.
Best practices for hosting, integrating, and supporting at-risk researchers, including psychological and institutional support systems.
It was an opportunity to strengthen collaborations and shape new initiatives. As part of the #ReACT project, we are committed to integrating these insights into our programs, ensuring that researchers—especially those at risk—receive the psychological, institutional, and professional support they need.
A huge thank you to Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Utrecht Network, and all fellow participants!
